A true family business.

In 2023 while realizing how fleeting our time is with our kids, Mark Cafiero read a book called "The Intentional Father" and began to wonder how he might find a way to pursue a project in tree work that could buy him some extra time outside with his 10 year old son, Nixon, and embrace all the valuable life-lessons that entrepreneurship teaches us in our lives

Having spent a lot of time under the close mentorship of a logger and forester in Colorado and obsessively learning the science of tree felling, Mark decided that a small tree removal and firewood delivery business would be the perfect side hustle journey to start with Nixon. One thing Mark was aware of was that tree companies have unfortunately earned a tough reputation - a field of skilled workers... but delivering a sub-par customer experience.

This was the opportunity that he wanted to pursue - building a tree business, focused on the customer experience.

Mark and Nixon ran some local marketing campaigns, and stayed very busy all year long. Nixon saved his own money and invested it into his own 20-ton log splitter.  Immediately, our business expanded from tree removal to also splitting logs and selling firewood. They called their business "Timber". No one really tells the story better than Nixon himself.

The business took off quickly. And the lessons it brought to Nixon were better than anything you could ever learn in school - from essential social skills, like looking your customers in the eyes when you meet, the importance of a firm hand shake, to managing money - pricing, budgeting and investing, and standing by our commitments and working hard, Timber has been a real gift for Nixon's personal growth... and for Mark, it simply meant more time with his son.

Aware of the risks in the business, it was not uncommon for Mark and Nixon to pass along the more technical tree jobs over to some of the more seasoned  tree companies in the area, but as time went by, we ran across a climber, Kostner, a highly skilled climber and arborist with a background working for other tree companies and utility companies who radiates a care and authenticity that is hard to find in most people, especially in the tree business. With Kostner's unique skillset for limbing from the tops of trees down and Mark's felling skills, and Nixon on cleanup, we finally had the team we needed to take on just about any tree removal job.

Continuing our tradition in entrepreneurship, we upgraded our trailer game and invested into a massive 7-ton dump trailer. This investment eliminates our need to make multiple trips to dispose of mass quantities of limbs. When we're not using the trailer we rent it out to other landscapers, house flippers, and neighborhood spring-cleaners. Mark's wife, LK and their daughter manage the reservations for what's now known as Larri's Equipment Rental and Junk Removal!

Today, we proudly serve Edmond and surrounding areas with full-service tree removal, log splitting, and firewood delivery. We are insured, and ready to deliver an exceptional experience at your property.
